Warwickshire Travel operates a modern fleet of coaches, buses, and minibuses. Due to height restrictions within their workshop, the company carries out essential maintenance outdoors. To support these operations, Stertil-Koni supplied cabled mobile column lifts with specialised protective covers, designed to perform reliably in challenging outdoor environments.
The supplied lifts consist of four Stertil-Koni ST1075FSA mobile columns, each capable of lifting 7.5 tonnes for a combined lifting capacity of 30 tonnes. This makes the lifts ideal for the rigorous demands of servicing large commercial vehicles like buses and coaches.
A key benefit of the columns is the ebright Smart Control System, which allows engineers to operate the lifts individually or in unison via user-friendly touch screen consoles. This ensures efficient and hassle-free operation while maximising productivity.
Each column features an independent mechanical locking system to securely hold vehicles in place and a microprocessor-controlled synchronisation feature that ensures precise lifting. Combined with the fast-lifting speed - up to a height of 1.85 metres in 75 seconds - the columns are said to enhance operational efficiency.
The cabled lifts are powered by a standard 415V supply and equipped with heavy-duty communication cables, ensuring robust connectivity. Additionally, Stertil-Koni’s maintenance-free synthetic runner wheels and hydraulic pallet truck mechanism are claimed to make the columns easy to manoeuvre and maintain.
For Warwickshire Travel, the specialised covers on the lifts offer protection against the elements and ensure reliable performance during regular outdoor servicing operations.
