Wincanton signs three-year deal with MiX Telematics

Wincanton has signed a three-year deal with MiX Telematics for the supply of telematics solutions for the operator’s 1,800-strong fleet.

The contract follows a tender and six-month trial of the technology which, says Wincanton’s fleet director Carl Hanson, “established MiX Telematics as the ideal telematics partner”.

The vehicles will be fitted with MiX Vision cameras and MiX DriveMate, an in-cab driving aid. Drivers will also use MyMiX, a mobile app to show individual driving performance and comparisons with colleagues.

The contract also includes remote tachograph downloading to ensure fleet compliance.

The telematics agreement comes as part of Wincanton’s WinSafe programme, led by Hanson, who adds: “Safety in operation is always our top priority and we believe MiX Telematics’ solution will help us derive significant benefits in this respect.”
