MAN has announced the arrival in the UK of the right-hand drive, low-entry version of its EcoCity gas bus.
The low entry bus joins two low-floor models already in the country, currently on a major operator trials programme around the UK.
In common with the low-floor models, the low-entry EcoCity has been designed for the UK by a project team of local specialists and the manufacturer's engineering team in Germany.
The resulting vehicle will be offered as an-all MAN bus, with complete vehicle support, delivered through the UK MAN network.
"We are delighted with this extension of the EcoCity family," says Tony Griffiths, general manger of MAN Bus Operations in the UK.
"It is a clear indication of our commitment and confidence in the concept for UK operators – a concept that already works successfully in some 10,000 MAN gas buses around the world," he continues.
"We promised UK operators two further gas bus options that would be fully supported from tyres to rooftop by MAN," he adds – also revealing that the company is now turning its attention towards a midi version of the bus.
