Dutch axle manufacturer VALX has unveiled the results of a three-year development – a new range of trailer axles for the European market.
Its axles are available in disc and drum-brake variations, and VALX says they offer optimum reliability and durability, and low costs of ownership.
The 9T axles are designed to be fitted to 19.5in and 22.5in wheels, and feature proven technology from a number of major European suppliers.
Wabco provided the air disc brakes; the seals are from SKF; while Timken and TMD have provided the bearings and friction materials respectively.
The axles' air suspension, from VDL Weweler, allows the full range of ride heights to be achieved with the fewest components. For the axle beam and brake drum, VALX has formed a partnership with the world's largest trailer axle manufacturer, China's FUWA.
VALX says it has also established a comprehensive Europe-wide service and support network to meet transport operators' demands for trailer availability.
