The operator’s core fleet of DAF LF trucks and Mercedes-Benz Sprinters are supplied through Ryder, but despite sourcing its latest two vehicles elsewhere – two DAF CF440 concrete mixers – it decided to use Ryder to manage vehicle maintenance.
“I had an existing relationship with Ryder and knew that they were a DAF specialist, so it made sense to keep it all of my fleet’s maintenance under one roof,” says Mark Hutchison, owner of 3D Transport.
Ryder’s out-of-hours servicing is particularly beneficial, he says: “At the end of the day, we drive a mixer to Ryder, which supplies a van to allow my driver to get back to our yard and then back to them the next morning to pick the mixer up.”
Hutchison adds: “Also, I like that extra service, whereby I’m emailed by Ryder once the work is done. The email details the work carried out and any issues that need to monitored, which means I can be proactive.”
