M Plant Hire Totalkare brake testing

Wales-based M Plant Hire is using a Totalkare brake tester to improve its maintenance procedure and provide a service to other local hauliers.

M Plant Hire, a company specialising in tool and plant hire, is the latest addition to construction solutions provider Morgan Construction.

According to Totalkare, the brake tester can accommodate vehicles with axle loads ranging from 6,000kg to 20,000kg and be integrated into a pit or as part of an ATF (Authorised Testing Facility) lane.

One of the standout features of the Totalkare in-ground brake tester is its roller area cover plate design, which is angled to minimise the risk of tyre damage. In addition, the roller wear surfaces are based on mesh steel, which helps to provide durability and precision in measurements.

Totalkare’s In-ground brake tester is equipped with a tablet interface, allowing users to control and monitor test results directly on a handheld unit. The diagnostics software is said to further enhance the data collection, storage and presentation of results.

Mark Morgan plant & transport manager for M plant hire, said: “Ensuring the safety and performance of our fleet is paramount and we can now offer testing facilities to the area that local companies would previously have had to travel up to 20 miles to have these inspections caried out, saving companies time and money in an environment where every minute and penny counts.”
