The Freight Transport Association (FTA), one of the country’s biggest business groups, and the only organisation which speaks for all of logistics, is seeking talented individuals to join its Vehicle Inspection team at a crucial point in its development.
FTA is looking for experienced Engineer’s across the UK and Ireland to be responsible for carrying out audits and maintenance inspections of vehicles, ancillary equipment and administration systems.
Your responsibilities would be:
- To plan, organise and complete all work allocated in a timely manner, in line with customer requirements and strictly adhering to FTA safety guidelines.
- To ensure that the high standards and quality of work set by FTA are achieved at all times, whilst maintaining pre-set productivity targets.
- To ensure that all documentation and reports are accurately completed.
- To ensure that FTA electronic systems and laptop information is securely protected, and that work done is transmitted to Head Office every working day.
- To attend training sessions and meetings as directed.
- To assist the Regional Operations Manager in other duties, as requested.
To apply for this role, you will need:
- To be a fully trained LGV, PSV or MHE engineer, as appropriate, with relevant technical qualifications.
- Previous experience is required in motor vehicle engineering, and an industry recognised qualification in motor vehicle engineering is required such as City and Guilds or National Vocational Qualification level two.
- In the absence of a formal motor vehicle engineering qualification, the minimum requirement is a valid IRTEC licence in vehicle inspection.
- Full UK driving license and HGV category C licence is essential.
We are also ideally looking for:
- Membership of a relevant professional body is desirable
- Highly motivated individual
- Good organisational and communication skills
- PSV category D licence is desired
