The role
You will be a home based, mobile engineer carrying out HGV/PSV vehicle inspections, ancillary equipment inspections (cranes and tail-lifts) and vehicle maintenance systems audits, primarily on the vehicle operators premises.
Your responsibilities will be:
• to plan, organise and complete all inspection work allocated in a timely manner, in line with customer requirements whilst strictly adhering to FTA safety guidelines
• to ensure the high standards and quality of work set by FTA are achieved at all times, whilst maintaining pre-set productivity targets
• to ensure all documentation and reports are accurately completed
• to ensure FTA electronic systems and laptop information is securely protected and details of the work done is transmitted to head office every working day
• to attend training sessions, meetings and other offices/locations as directed
• to assist the Area Manager in other duties, as requested
About you
You will be a fully trained and experienced LGV or PSV engineer, with relevant engineering/technical qualifications. You will be committed to provid¬ing first class levels of customer service and support, with a positive approach to meeting deadlines and a high level of attention to detail. Good IT skills will be an advantage, particularly knowledge of Microsoft Word, Excel, and Outlook. You should be highly motivated, with good organisational and communication skills. Due to the nature of this role you will need an ordinary driving licence and preferably a C+E LGV driver's licence. If necessary, suitable candidates will be given the opportunity to obtain a class C LGV licence.
