The South Western Ambulance Service NHS Foundation Trust serves an area of 10,000 square miles over seven counties; a total 20% of mainland England. When providing such an essential service to the public and covering such a large area, it is important that our vehicles are maintained to the highest standards.
The Fleet has just moved into new, larger, modern premises in Exeter, (which is one of three in Devon), and is expanding its operations. With this extra work being undertaken, we are looking for a skilled and experienced Motor Vehicle Technician to join our team.
The role is challenging and rewarding as our Fleet is not only made up of specialist front line vehicles, but a range of vehicles that are expected to be maintained to the highest standards; this involves maintenance, servicing, some major repairs, and diagnostics to ensure optimum and safe levels of vehicle availability at all times.
The successful candidate will have served a recognised Motor Vehicle Indentured apprenticeship, or completed an equivalent training scheme and obtained City and Guilds Motor Vehicle Craft studies parts 1, 2 & 3, or Motor Vehicle Technicians qualification or BTEC equivalents.
A full UK driving licence held for at least one year with a maximum of 3 points allowed for some offences and a category C1 is essential.
