Band 5, Starting salary £21,388 rising in annual increments to £27,901 plus 15 per cent outer high cost area supplement (minimum £3,448) plus Recruitment and Retention payment of £3,277 per annum.
An opportunity has arisen for a workshop manager situated at Croydon Workshop. In this role, you will manage planned and unplanned maintenance for over 70 Service vehicles and supervise a team of four Vehicle Technicians. You will be responsible for delivering Key Performance Indicators, upholding engineering standards and provision of a safe working environment. You will also be responsible for the efficient management of parts inventory to ensure a cost effective service is provided. You will need to ensure that sufficient roadworthy vehicles are available for operational use and that the safety of staff, patients and other road users is of paramount importance.
The successful candidate will need to experience in managing a workshop with extensive knowledge in the repair and maintenance of petrol and diesel vehicles. They will need to demonstrate an ability to work in a high pressure environment with a flexible approach, being reactive to problem solving. You will also need to possess comprehensive knowledge of vehicle electrical systems, including modern vehicle electronic management, and of computer based workshop diagnostic equipment e.g. Tech 1, Tech 2 and Star diagnostics.
