The London Ambulance Service NHS Trust currently has 12 vehicle repair workshops, ranging in size from small workshops with 3 staff, to larger facilities that will increase to 9 staff.

Managing a Workshop in Chase Farm - North London area, EN2
Band 5 Outer London - £27,254 - £34,070 inclusive of High Cost Area Supplement and a Recruitment and Retention premium. The workshops perform a vital and challenging role in supporting the LAS Ambulance fleet, which involves maintaining and repairing the specialist vehicles to the highest standards, whilst also ensuring maximum levels of availability at all times for the operational crews. The operating model of the LAS workshops is changing to enhance the support for the operational crews and people of London; workshops will cover extended hours and weekends. This position is based at the Chase Farm workshop and will involve the management of the technician team there, as well as contributing to the general support of East London. This challenging role will require you to have first class technical and management skills, gained from your time working in similar roles that also have a strong focus on safety and performance, as well as the flexibility to adapt to a changing and often pressurised environment. You will be able to motivate a team whilst implementing performance improvements, increasing productivity and improving safety standards. The position will suit someone with a genuine desire to assist in the design and implementation of changes leading to sustained excellent performance. The working arrangement will be for a 37.5 hour week and rostered over 7 days with rotating rest days. The work roster will attract additional payments for any unsocial hours worked which will be in addition to the figures shown above. Occasionally we operate bonus schemes and offer overtime working but this is not guaranteed. There is also the opportunity to volunteer to assist in our central co-ordination centre for all of London; managing vehicles back into service following accidents or breakdowns.
