We currently have vacancies for fleet multi-skilled technicians at Barnehurst, Camden, Croydon, Fulham, Hillingdon, New Malden, Romford, West Ham and Whipps Cross. About the role Our workshop technicians perform a vital and challenging role to support the ambulance fleet. This involves maintaining and repairing specialist vehicles to the highest standards while ensuring maximum levels of availability at all times. The workshops provide seven-day cover, which in most cases means some early or late starts depending on the location and shift. The working week will be 37.5 hours by rota, over seven days. Additional payments are applicable to unsocial hours working (shift working) and in line with national terms and conditions. There are occasionally opportunities to work additional hours depending on operational demands. This is an exciting time to join the team, as a programme of future improvements is starting to take place. New, larger workshops with excellent facilities are planned, as well as mobile working from dedicated specialist support vehicles. About you To be part of the team you will need to have the ability to solve problems quickly, use initiative, have a flexible "can do" attitude. You will need to be able to work to a high standard and provide great customer service in a pressurised environment at peak times. Qualifications We are looking for someone who is qualified to NVQ level 3 or can demonstrate equivalent experience and knowledge. A mechanical or electrical bias is acceptable and membership of a relevant trade organisation is desirable. You will also need to have a clean C1 driving licence, or be committed to obtain this category. The closing date for the receipt of completed applications is midnight on Tuesday 4 January 2011.
