Inner High Cost Area Supplement (20%): Camden, Fulham, Waterloo
Outer High Cost Area Supplement (15%): Whipps Cross, Barnehurst, New Malden
About the role
We serve an area of approximately 620 square miles. Broadly speaking, our boundaries run from Heathrow in the west to Upminster in the east and from Enfield in the north to Coulsdon in the south. When providing such an essential service to the public and with covering such a large area it is important that our vehicles are maintained to the highest standards.
Our busy Fleet maintenance department is currently looking for skilled and experienced motor vehicle technicians, to join teams at the above workshop locations across London.
Our workshop technicians perform a vital and challenging role to support the ambulance fleet. This involves maintaining and repairing specialist vehicles to the highest standards while ensuring maximum levels of availability at all times.
The workshops provide seven-day cover, which in most cases means some early or late starts depending on the location and shift and may be subject to change in the future. The working week will be 37.5 hours by rota, over seven days. Additional payments are applicable to unsocial hours working (shift working) and in line with national terms and conditions. You may also be required to work at different locations to cover shortfalls in staffing from time to time.
About you
You will need to hold a BTEC/HNC Level of City and guilds plus relevant post apprenticeship training or equivalent experience. We would be looking for proven experience in a maintenance workshop environment with a focus on providing great customer service. A full UK driving licence with C1 is essential, with no more than 3 points.
