To do that we need a strong, effective leader who can quickly establish credibility in this Board level role. Reporting to the Managing Director, this position has significant responsibility for both developing and delivering the overall business strategy as well as direct leadership of the engineering function and other related business areas such as purchasing, refurbishment and property.

You will need a proven track record in a relevant role within the bus sector, with solid commercial and financial skills and proven understanding of legislative requirements and best practice and an absolute focus on delivering results. A Certificate of Professional Competence for Transport Managers in Passenger Transport and Road Haulage is essential and relevant engineering {IRTE} and Health & Safety qualifications are a pre-requisite.

Your leadership and interpersonal skills are just as important to us. You will be recognised as having high personal credibility and integrity along with a disciplined and positive approach which inspires trust. You will be adept at building relationships with key external stakeholders and will be a visible leader who can engage with colleagues at all levels across the organisation. An ability to challenge the status quo and demonstrate tenacity and diplomacy, you will have a capacity to see changes through to conclusion and success.
