Engineering Director - Newport Transport

At Newport Transport we've recently spent more than £2.7m making our fleet of buses one of the most modern in the UK. Now we need a proactive and passionate Engineering Director to look after it. Someone with a desire to be the best, to join our forward-thinking Executive Team and help us make Newport Transport a market leader in our sector. You'll be working with a team of more than 50 staff split across three business units, a fleet of 100 vehicles and responsibility for a budget in excess of £2 million. As a Company Director you will be expected to demonstrate the vision and decision making necessary to shape the company's future growth and strategy. You'll be qualified in a PSV/HGV engineering discipline with relevant quantifiable experience in the transport sector. Experience at directorial level is preferable, however the role may suit an exceptional Engineering Manager looking to progress to a senior role. Full Health & Safety policy experience is essential as is the ability to control costs within budgets and maintain a fully compliant fleet. A great communicator with the ability to influence and motivate, your man management skills will be exemplary. Not bound by precedent or accepted practice, you will be confident to lead and deliver new approaches and solutions. You will also have worked in a unionised environment.
