Engineering Director - Scotland East

We are global in scale and local in approach. First in Scotland East have a challenging opportunity for an experienced engineering professional to join the management team. Reporting to the Managing Director you will be responsible for: • Leading on all health, safety and environmental initiatives to ensure full compliance with all company policies. • Meeting cash generation, growth and return on capital targets by ensuring safe, punctual, reliable and cost effective maintenance and repair of the fleet. • Facilitating the provision of accurate input on Engineering cost and capabilities to the Operating Company budget. • Assessing compliance with budget and standard operating procedures utilising SAP performance reports. • Ensuring worst offending vehicles are effectively targeted utilising repeat defect and breakdown analysis. • Leading and managing the engineering team in accordance with FirstGroup policies and procedures and all relevant legislation ensuring that all workshop staff and supervisors have been trained accordingly. • Implementing and maintaining UK Bus standard operating procedures You: The successful candidate will be a dynamic and professional engineer, with a solid track record in a progressive, changing and challenging environment. Sector experience is preferred but not essential, although candidates must be able to demonstrate that they are a committed and highly motivated people person with accomplished technical skills. The successful candidate will also be required to demonstrate the skills, experience and innovation necessary to meet the ambitions and challenges of this successful Company. Candidates will be expected to hold an international CPC or be prepared to work towards attaining the certificate.
