Engineering Manager - East London - £50,137 – £51,252 p.a.

Here at Stagecoach London, we have a dedicated team of 4,850 staff who operate around 1,370 buses. Every year we carry approximately 330 million passengers across East and South East London on journeys that total a staggering 50 million miles.
In this interesting and varied role you will manage the engineering function, maintaining vehicles to the standard required by the Company, TfL and VOSA, in order to achieve maximum vehicle availability, also being responsible for Health and Safety within the Garage. You'll provide leadership and motivation of the engineering team together with organising their training and development needs. Planning and managing vehicle maintenance and repair, ensuring that all vehicles comply with required standards, managing contractors, keeping abreast of technical/environmental developments and budget control are other key features of the role. To be considered, you'll need a thorough understanding of mechanical engineering and vehicle maintenance procedures for all types of public service vehicles as well as a knowledge of electrical engineering, bus bodywork construction and basic stores procedures. In addition, you should have, or have the ability to gain, a CPC, together with the ability to plan and prioritise, analyse situations and make decisions. Knowledge of appropriate Company policies and procedures,especially Health & Safety, is desirable. You'll also need to be flexible and prepared to respond positively to the need to change working patterns at short notice to suit the needs of the business.
