Senior Engineering Management Opportunities

These interesting and varied roles will give the right individuals the opportunity to develop their existing management careers and progress within the company, not only in London but also throughout the group. You will provide leadership, motivation and performance measurement of the engineering team, in turn identifying the training and development needs of individual members. Planning and managing the engineering function, maintaining and repairing vehicles to the standard required by the Company, TfL and VOSA, in order to achieve maximum vehicle availability, you will also be responsible for Health and Safety and ensuring current legislation is followed. Keeping abreast of technical/environmental developments, budget control, management of external contractors and accurate record keeping are other key features of the role. To be considered, you'll need a thorough understanding of mechanical engineering and vehicle maintenance procedures for all types of public service vehicles, together with a well developed knowledge of electrical engineering, bus bodywork construction and basic stores procedures. In addition, you should have, or have the ability to gain, a CPC, together with the ability to plan and prioritise, analyse situations and make decisions. You'll also need to be flexible and prepared to respond positively to the need to change working patterns at short notice to suit the needs of the business.
