Salary: Competitive
Lead on the improvement of vehicle and maintenance standards across Stagecoach London's nine garages.
The opportunity
Since our foundation over 20 years ago, Stagecoach London has grown into one of the capital's leading bus companies. Joining us is a chance to progress your senior career in an engineering team that maintains a fleet of around 1,300 vehicles operating 50 million miles per year.
Our garages have long histories going back to the earliest days of public transport. Now, you'll face the challenge of maintaining a state-of-the-art, modern fleet while helping us continue shaping the future of travel in London. Perform to your potential and you can look forward to a successful future of your own at Stagecoach.
The role
This influential role comes with company-wide responsibility. You'll be tasked with monitoring vehicle conditions and maintenance standards through inspections and audits at all our nine garages locations across East and South East London and at our testing centre.
You'll then produce reports and detailed action plans that help us deliver continuous improvement. It's a remit that involves close liaison with the Engineering Director, Operations Engineer and Engineering Managers to remedy problems and deliver improvements.
You will also create and deliver training and provide the technical updates and information that ensure our teams are at the forefront of bus engineering in the capital.
The requirements
You need a strong understanding of mechanical, electrical and bodywork engineering and vehicle maintenance procedures for our modern fleet. Alongside this, you will have good knowledge of the industry's relevant standards, legislation and health and safety practices.
We will be looking for strong interpersonal and communication skills, including the ability to influence, train and engage others.
You need to hold a minimum NVQ 3 or equivalent in Motor Vehicle repair.
Strong planning, analytical and decision making skills are also a must.
