West Midlands Ambulance Service is looking to strengthen its leadership and management within the critical Fleet Services Department. The Trust operates a fleet of 1100 vehicles, providing the core transport base for the important operational delivery elements – Emergency and Non Emergency Ambulance Services.
The age profile of the diverse Fleet assets will move to a maximum of 5 years in 2013 and the department uses a combination of self maintained and third party maintenance providers. General Manager – Fleet Services
Band 8c £54,454 - £67,134 plus lease car benefit
This person will have the overall management of the Fleet Department under their control. We are looking for an inspirational leader, who can organise / manage / and drive continuous improvement within a department. Ensuring the asset base is managed effectively and in a cost effective manner will be key skills of the post holder. Head of Fleet Engineering – Fleet Services
Band 8b £45,254 - £55,945 plus lease car benefit
This person will have responsibility for all matters of maintenance and repair of the 1100 strong fleet. They will ensure the assets are maintained to the very highest standard expected of our sector, whilst ensuring cost effectiveness and high efficiency. This will require good organisation of the workshop environments and strong management of third party providers. The post holder will need to problem solve and respond to a dynamically changing operation in a live environment.
