Job Purpose: The management of repair and maintenance services for contracts within the London Region in line with statutory regulations and company procedures.
• Manage servicing schedule for circa 650 vehicles, ensuring that the fleet is maintained to the highest standard and ready for use.
• Work on separate Engineering and Compliance projects as set by the Regional Fleet Manager.
• Manage all aspects of the central workshop for the Region.
• Day-to-day management, motivation and development of the wider team.
• Addressing any welfare, disciplinary, probationary reviews or other employee related issues.
• Responsibility for health and safety of all employees working in the workshop environment as well as developing the awareness of safe working practice.
• The role holder primarily has internal customers, including the operations management team. In addition to this there are external customers mainly aligned to Client File management from existing municipal customers.
• The role holder is responsible for providing accurate and timely reports and technical knowledge to inform the client on fleet performance and improve operations.
• Provide technical support influencing best practice and asset utilisation.
• The role holder is responsible for monitoring and maintaining all vehicle records in line with statutory regulations and company policy and procedures, e.g. all work, expenditure for parts and services recorded appropriately and all queries processed with appropriate corrective action.
• Maintain accurate, up to date vehicle records and files in line with VOSA and other statutory regulations – including Fleet Compliance and the Fleet Management System.
The successful candidate will have a proven track record in senior vehicle maintenance facility management and have core Engineering and Transport Management qualifications.
