Product Support Engineer

ZF Services UK is part of a worldwide organisation recognised as a market leader in the automotive industry. We are a remanufacturing and sales organisation and are currently going through a period of organisational change. We are looking for a Product Support Engineer within the Commercial Vehicle team. Reporting to the Technical Manager, the Product Support Engineer will provide a competent and professional technical support service to all OEM's, importers, end-users, dealers/distributors, parent companies overseas and internal customers. You will provide technical input and guidance, handle warranty claims ensuring all customer expectations are achieved; and co-ordinate field service activity when required. The role holder is also required to identify and exploit commercial opportunities in conjunction with all other functions within ZF Services UK. Assignment To handle technical calls received for truck products, and provide support for bus products, ensuring full customer satisfaction. The Product Support Engineer will be responsible for the technical adjudication of warranty claims, including the creation of technical reports to meet the company expectations in relation to UK and factory warranty. They will develop relationships with the parent companies and customers promoting ZF's position as a key partner to attract future commercial opportunities through its technical competence. They will also support the activity of Field Service Engineers when required, providing diagnostic and repair support. Profile The successful candidate will have a thorough understanding of engineering principles and concepts, with a Mechanical Engineering qualification such as an HNC/HND, or equivalent. They will have significant experience of working with mechanical or electrical products possessing a good knowledge of the commercial vehicle market and ZF products the ideal candidate will have good truck dealership experience, and gained diagnostic skills. They will have experience of presenting technical solutions to customers up to Director's level. They will be a confident communicator in technical issues.
