We account for a million bus journeys a day, on nearly 100 day and night routes. All of our bus fleet are programmed to undergo tests on an annual basis. You will liaise with VOSA staff at each test centre, and ensure every vehicle in the programme is tested. You must develop and maintain a good working relationship with the VOSA area manager and testers, keeping them notified of all test days and possess the confidence to challenge results if required. Liaising with both garage management and HQ, you will ensure that all test slots are utilised. The test centre premises are to be clean and safe according to VOSA conditions of appointment and the management of maintenance and calibration of equipment as per schedule.
A full understanding of VOSA testing standards and a thorough knowledge of all equipment used in the test centre environment is essential and you will need to quickly develop a working knowledge of all our vehicle types.
Computer literate and able to communicate effectively at all levels, both orally and in writing, you should hold an NVQ Level 3 in heavy vehicle engineering, or equivalent industry recognised qualification.
You must also hold, or be able to gain a Category D or Restricted PCV licence.
