An opportunity has arisen within Central Transport Services for a professional and driven Transport Operations Manager. The post holder will be responsible for:-
- Managing the operation and maintenance of all Council vehicles and plant in line with Council and statutory requirements
- Managing the business delivery, strategic direction, resourcing and budget management of an effective fleet transport service in line with business plans, targets and strategic directives
- Complying with all required legislative obligations under Operator Licence legislation and Council policies and procedures
- Contract Management for fleet provision working with external partners.
The successful candidate must have experience of working within a fleet operation and must hold a Certificate of Professional Competence in National Road Haulage Operations (CPC).
They must be able to operate at strategic and operational level, respond to the changing needs of the service, demonstrate an ability to solve problems and be committed to meeting customer needs.
