As the Workshop Manager you will play a significant and highly accountable role in our successful operation, managing a team of over 75 qualified maintenance engineers & supervisors.

We are looking for an experienced manager to take on a new role of Workshop Manager with day to day responsibility for the Body & Paint Shops.

With expectations of an annual turnover in excess of £6m you will focus on maximising value and constantly driving up performance standards right across the engineering function.
Your main responsibilities in this role will include:
• Planning and managing our large workshop to deliver the highest possible standards of achievement
• Allocating & prioritising work & materials to meet completion dates
• Ensuring all jobs are completed within budget
• Implementing & managing a job recording system
• Ensuring compliance with Health and Safety Regulations
• Liaising with customers, suppliers & contractors
• Managing the performance of supervisors & workshop staff
• Liaising with stores staff to ensure material requirements are met
about you
You will be an experienced manager, flexible about your working hours, with a background in heavy vehicle engineering and a thorough knowledge of vehicle and equipment technology.
You will need to be proactive in your approach to this role with a desire to ensure maximum customer satisfaction whilst also meeting the financial targets.
Ideally you will have practical experience of working within the bus or commercial vehicle industry.
Both knowledge of work study techniques and familiarity with engineering IT support systems would be a distinct advantage.
