AA extends Fuel Assist Service fleet with 17 custom tankers from Whale

The AA has taken delivery of an additional 17 custom-built fuel retrieval tankers from Whale, fitted into Transit vehicles, for its Fuel Assist Service fleet.

The system and technology was developed by Whale more than six years ago, and is used to recover fuel if drivers have inadvertently filled up their tanks with the wrong type.

Petrol or diesel can be pumped out, and pipework can be cleaned to avoid any lasting damage to the vehicle.

The motoring organisation has worked with Whale Tankers for several years and the equipment is installed in many of its vehicles.

"Since the original design, we have worked closely with their team of engineers to further develop and improve the equipment to the very high level specification it is today," says Chris Wiltshire, AA fleet engineer.
