The government has secured an additional allocation of annual and short-term ECMT permits for 2019, for use by operators whose vehicles are travelling to or through the 43 member countries after the UK leaves the European Union.
The permits are available for Euro V and Euro VI vehicles; applications can be made until midnight on 16 March.
Operators should not reapply for a 2019 permit if they have already made an application.
The government says: “Your previous application will automatically be considered when the extra permits are allocated – even if you were not previously allocated a permit. Any extra applications you make will be rejected.”
Permits will be allocated after the application period has ended; they are not allocated on a first-come, first-served basis.
