Commercial vehicle bodybuilder Bevan Group has acquired specialist supplier PG Reeves – spreading Bevan's reach for its dry freight box and curtainside bodies into the drinks industry.
Balsall Heath, Birmingham-based PG Reeves is best know for its fast access truck bodies, aimed at multi-drop operations for the likes of Coca-Cola, Matthew Clark and Dayla Drinks.
Halesowen, West Midlands-based Bevan Group has paid an undisclosed sum for PG Reeves' plant and machinery, as well as its order book and former managing director Martyn Reeves, along with a dozen of his former colleagues.
Says Bevan managing director Anthony Bevan: "Martyn's agreement to join our team in the new role of director for business development was of paramount importance. Without him, we would not have gone ahead."
But he adds: "We had identified the drinks sector as one that offered significant potential for growth. Now, with Martyn working to expand his customer base, we look forward to exploiting that potential."
