BPW Bergische Achsen Kommanditgesellschaft is expanding its expertise in vehicle electronics by joining forces with idem GmbH.
BPW has purchased a stake in idem, "to take trailer electronics and telematics to a new level" for freight companies and vehicle fleet operators.
Munich-based idem supplies systems for monitoring towed units (trailers, swap bodies etc) – telematics solutions that provide information on temperature control, positioning, distance recording, journey time and standstill time.
Under the terms of the deal, idem will retain its telematics range, while expanding its product portfolio with intelligent electronic solutions based on BPW vehicle knowledge.
The fruits of this new relationship are due to be presented at the Hannover show in September.
