The investment gives the company greater control over servicing, reduces downtime, and cuts long-term costs.
To enable safe outdoor maintenance of its trailer tankers, the company selected Stertil-Koni’s industry-leading mobile column lifts, supplied with an A-Frame trailer beam adaptor. This allows the team to lift trailers via the kingpin connection - without the need to invest in a specialised trailer lift.
The adaptor attaches seamlessly to the lifting points of the mobile columns, with the trailer’s kingpin securely fastening to the beam. This ensures the trailer can be raised in a stable, balanced position. When not in use, the adaptor can be quickly removed, allowing the same set of columns to lift standard vehicles - adding versatility to the company’s maintenance capabilities.
To ensure reliable performance in outdoor conditions, the lifts were also supplied with specialised protective covers. These covers safeguard electrical and hydraulic components from the elements, improving safety and ensuring the lifts remain operational throughout the year.
The set of six ST1075 mobile columns each has a lifting capacity of 7.5 tonnes, providing a combined capacity of 45 tonnes. The trailer beam itself offers a lifting capacity of 7.2 tonnes - ideal for the heavy vehicles in Environmental Waste Management’s fleet.
Mobility is another key benefit. Each column is fitted with synthetic wheels and a hydraulic pallet truck mechanism with patented overload protection, making them easy to reposition as needed. This flexibility helps reduce maintenance bottlenecks and keeps the fleet on the move.
Each column is also equipped with Stertil-Koni’s intuitive ebright Smart Control System, featuring a full-colour touchscreen that enables engineers to operate the lifts individually, in pairs, or as a complete set from any column - allowing more time to be spent on maintenance rather than configuration.
