Hankook has taken the wraps off a tyre that promises numerous efficiency benefits to operators.
Concept Blue, unveiled at the IAA Commercial Vehicle event in Hannover, claims to help cut rolling resistance, while an aerodynamic sidewall and contour reduces the drag coefficient.
Hankook suggests that the main beneficiaries of the new rubber will be delivery vans, the owners of which will benefit from improved levels of wear and reliability.
The tyre manufacturer also used the German show to reveal a concept trailer tyre, designed for long-haul. The e-cube will be offered in a range of 13 dimensions, comprising tyres that can be fitted to both steeering and drive axles of a variety of trucks.
