Reading-based Horseman Coaches has taken delivery of two Plaxton Leopards and ordered 10 Panther Executive coaches, in a £3m investment to upgrade its fleet ahead of the introduction of the London ULEZ next year.
The Leopards are 12.2m, 70-seat, B8R Euro VI models with Volvo DK8 engines and I-Shift transmission.
The 12.8m, 53-seater Panthers, due for delivery at the end of this year, have parallel lift lockers, kitchenette, fridge, toilets, entertainment system and eight-camera CCTV systems. They are also powered by DK8 engines and I-Shift transmissions, and will be equipped with real-time tracking and telematics.
Company director James Horseman (pictured with Mark Taylor, regional sales manager at Alexander Dennis, Plaxton’s owner) says: “These latest vehicles form part of our consistent, ongoing programme of investment in fleet improvements and underpin our determination to stay at the forefront of the sector.”
