This year's CV Show may still be in full swing, but the 2013 Commercial Vehicle Show has received international recognition from the automotive industry's global body, OICA (Organisation Internationale des Constructeurs d'Automobiles).
The new status reflects the global significance of the UK road transport industry and the success of the Show – particularly this year.
OICA accredits only a very limited number of vehicle exhibitions around the world. The Birmingham CV Show is now one of only eight specialist commercial vehicle exhibitions to be recognised by the industry body – alongside events in Hanover and Amsterdam (RAI).
"OICA accreditation is most welcome and acknowledges the increasing importance of the CV Show," comments Nick Jones, chief executive of the Society of Operations Engineers – one of the owners of CV Show LLP, through IRTE (the Institute of Road Transport Engineers).
"The CV Show's new status is confirmation the UK is making a significant impact in this global industry, and the event has proven to be one of the key international commercial vehicle trade shows," he adds.
The 2013 Commercial Vehicle Show will take place at the NEC, Birmingham on 9—11 April 2013.
