Jet Plant Hire expands Volvo fleet

Rigids
Road planing business Jet Plant Hire has extended its fleet with six Volvo rigids – one FE and five FMX vehicles.

Supplied by Truck and Bus Wales and West, the Evesham-based operator’s five FMX trucks are all 6x4 rigids with Globetrotter cabs, D13K engines rated at 460bhp, I-Shift automated transmission and Boweld TaperLite HD tipper bodies.

The FMX vehicles have increased ground clearance thanks to Volvo’s X-High rear air suspension and N3G straight front axles. They will also haul platform trailers to transport road planing equipment.

The single FE 4x2 rigid is specified with a standard height chassis, all-round steel suspension and a D8K engine producing 280bhp, also with I-Shift automated transmission. Its waste container body comes with cable lift equipment by MHF (UK).

All six vehicles have factory-fitted lower passenger door glazing, all-round camera systems and side scan left turn warning systems.

Jet Plant’s first truck, in 1990, was a Volvo FL7 and the operator remains committed to the brand to this day.

“Volvo is an excellent product and is a premium brand that has real substance to it,” says Sean Witheford, managing director at the FORS Gold operator.

“Over the years, it has become obvious that our business and Volvo share the same quality values with regards to professional operating standards and, crucially, compliance.”
