Located on the Team Valley Trading Estate, the new facility includes 12 workshop bays and an ATF lane. Twenty technicians provide round-the-clock servicing Monday to Friday, with extended weekend opening hours.
New workshop equipment includes tacho rollers, two brake testers, compressors, a new steam clean ramp and a 3-tonne overhead crane. During the foundation stages, 28m-long inspection pits with jacking rails, lighting and air lines, were set into the polished concrete workshop floor. Six new 7.5-tonne Stertil Koni wireless mobile column lifts have also been installed, giving a lifting capability of up to 45 tonnes.
At the site, which is the first MAN eMobility workshop, there are four double vehicle EV charging points.
MAN Gateshead is also home to a £350,000 parts stockholding.
