New CV hire business appoints TotalKare to kit out workshop

Chepstow-based commercial vehicle hire business Endurance Vehicle Solutions (EVS) has invested more than £400,000 in a new HQ and dedicated workshop, with lifting and brake testing equipment supplied by TotalKare.

EVS was established earlier this year and says booming demand in the first six months led to the need for its own maintenance, service and repair facility.

TotalKare has supplied a mobile brake tester and two sets of four T8DC mobile column lifts, with a lifting capacity of 30,000kg per set.

EVS also specified trailer beam and transmission jack ancillary products. Together with the T8DC’s adjustable wheel forks, these enable the business to cater for diverse vehicle types, including 18-tonne skiploaders, 32-tonne hooklifts, RCVs, water tankers and roadsweepers.

James Mulligan, co-founder of EVS and operations director, says: “We had a blank canvas with the workshop and wanted the very best, which is why we turned to TotalKare to help us with the lifting and brake testing side of things.

“The technical experts it has are second to none and guided us through the options until we arrived at the products that best suited our requirements for high performance, durability and, importantly, flexibility.

“In particular, doing our own brake testing in-house will deliver sizeable cost savings for us in the medium to long term.”

EVS already has contracts to support 200 trailers, tractor units and box vans for clients involved in distribution, logistics and municipal work.

TotalKare’s brake tester range was launched earlier this year – the first time it has introduced non-lifting products to its portfolio. It has since added headlamp testing equipment.
