Following a request from tyre supplier County Tyres, Cartwright has designed a bespoke commercial vehicle that has been specially tailored for the industry.
County Tyres says it was looking for a trailer that could transport both loose tyres and stillages, yet also offer the flexibility of a curtainsider.
Using its Cheetah vehicle design as a base, Cartwright created what it describes as a cost-effective, fuel-efficient trailer, with four sliding posts per side and 20 wooden slats – allowing County Tyres the flexibility to load its range as necessary.
"Very often we have to load stillages containing tyres," explains Matthew Martin, group transport fleet manager at County Tyres.
"Sometimes though, with bigger loads, it is better to loose-load, using a box trailer," he continues.
"With this in mind, ideally what we were looking for was a cross between a box trailer and a curtainsider, so we would have the best of both worlds."
