Northern Irish chilled and frozen food distributor PRM Group has taken delivery of its first Euro 6 trucks, a 15-tonne Mercedes Atego and a 26-tonne Antos.
Supplied by dealer Mercedes-Benz Truck & Van (NI), the Lisburn-based operator's new additions join its Mercedes-only fleet of 15 rigids, 17 tractors and 22 semi-trailers.
The Atego 1518 has an S ClassicSpace cab and a 177bhp four-cylinder engine, with an eight-speed Mercedes PowerShift 3 automated transmission.
The six-wheeled Antos 2532 has a lifting tag axle and M ClassicSpace cab, while its 320bhp straight-six engine drives through a 12-speed version of the PowerShift transmission.
The latest vehicles were both fitted with temperature-controlled bodies by Gray & Adams.
The 15-tonner's 6.1m body has upgraded insulation for enhanced thermal efficiency and is fitted with a Thermo King T-1000 Spectrum refrigeration unit, giving a constant temperature of -25°C.
The 26-tonner's 8.9m box was removed from a six-wheeler after eight years' service and has been fully refurbished.
