Reilly workshop boosts efficiency with mobile column lifts

Reilly Concrete Pumping has taken delivery of a range of lifting equipment from Stertil Koni to boost workshop efficiency.
Paul Beard, Reilly Concrete Pumping depot manager, says that the new equipment means the workshop can carry out maintenance on several vehicles simultaneously. "The Stertil Koni lifts and stands have greatly increased our capacity to repair and service a number of vehicles at any one time, creating a more streamlined and cost-effective maintenance programme," states Beard. "The ability to boost revenue due to quicker maintenance turnarounds is a great asset," he adds. Beard explains that, after evaluating several options, the St Helens, Merseyside-based business decided to go for a set of four ST1082FWF mobile column lifts from Stertil Koni, as well as high lift and regular axle stands. The mobile column lifts give maximum access to the underside of raised vehicles. Each column has its own control box and provides a lifting capacity of 8.2 tonnes – so, used together, the four columns can safely lift lorries, vans and other vehicles up to 32.8 tonnes. Two long-life, deep-cycle batteries power each column for a week before needing to be recharged. The batteries can be charged overnight via a 230v single phase supply. Safety is improved, with no cables on the workshop floor, and the system can be used inside or outdoors as no power supply is needed.
