When Renault Truck Commercials launched a demonstration programme last December, with its Union Jack and Welsh flag-branded Premium Long Distance tractor units, one operator returned 11.13mpg over a week's driving.
Fuel efficiency was one of the key measurements and the combined results showed an average of 9.58mpg, which has left Christophe Blazere, managing director of Renault Truck Commercials, very happy.
"We used our Optifuel Infomax data collection and analysis tool to download the demonstration vehicles' fuel data at both the beginning and end of each trial and provided the report directly to the customer, as part of our feedback," he explains.
"We wanted to put our money where our mouth is and really show our customers what they get with the Premium Long Distance," he adds.
Blazere also says he is delighted with the overall average of more than 9.5mpg, given the variety of jobs and contracts the vehicles were subjected to.
"We sold over 50 Premiums as a result of this programme, and most of them are conquests for Renault Trucks, such as JJ Bartletts and Sons and Ralph Coleman," asserts Blazere.
"In fact, all our demonstration vehicles were sold before we even finished the programme," he quips.
