Renault Truck chassis build reduces body mounting time by 20%

Chassis
Renault Trucks says that the chassis architecture in its new range can reduce body mounting time by up to 20%, thanks to the modular design enabling multiple configurations.
The manufacturer has also set up a dedicated website for bodybuilders, which gives body mounting guides, manufacturing and delivery schedules, and an online e-learning portal to demonstrate the range of body mounting options. Renault's Range D distribution vehicles offer a number of body mounting provisions, including for installing tail-lifts, tanker bodies and equipment for refrigerated or temperature-controlled transport. For Range C and K construction vehicles, chassis have provisions for mounting cement mixers, tippers, platform cranes, concrete pumps or a boom arm crane. Range C, K and D vehicles can also be supplied with electrical and mechanical provisions for mounting cranes. Renault says the chassis can be supplied to order, with wheelbase lengths ranging in 200-400mm increments for Range C and K models, and 300mm for Range D. This can reduce or eliminate the need for bodybuilders to shorten side members and makes it easier to fit an under-run bar, a crane or a tail lift. Further flexibility is offered by the ability to have fuel tanks fitted at two different heights on the C and K ranges and in either steel or aluminium. Tanks can be fitted on the left or right of all three ranges.
