Warehousing and distribution business Pollock (Scotrans) has taken delivery of the first Actros1, a limited edition line of 100 trucks from Mercedes-Benz.

Supplied by dealer Western Commercial, the Bathgate-based operator’s new addition has an eye-catching livery of black paintwork with vivid green highlights – an alternative silver/black scheme is also available.

The 6x2 chassis has a GigaSpace cab and is powered by a 15-6-litre, 617bhp engine driving through a PowerShift 3 automated transmission.

It is also specified with LightFix Nordic bar and extra front lights, rear perimeter lights, and black rear wing tops and back arches. The Style Line interior includes a leather-trimmed steering wheel, automatic climate control, a microwave and pull-out refrigerator, and an electric sunroof and sunblind.

Driver Allan Holt says: “In terms of comfort and practicality, it’s pretty much perfect.

“I can’t think of anything else I’d add. The uprated multimedia entertainment system is brilliant, the leather massage seats and Premium Comfort mattress supremely comfortable, and the additional rear overhead lockers very useful.”

The truck’s first outing was to Truckfest, Peterborough, where Holt won second prize for best kept truck.

Pollock (Scotrans) has also taken delivery of an 18-tonne Antos 1824 curtainsider; both of the vehicles are subject to an Agility funding agreement through Mercedes-Benz Financial Services.
