The investment follows Sentinel’s recent takeover of the VMU, with the aim of streamlining servicing operations and improving working conditions for technicians.
Replacing outdated equipment, the new ST4070 lifts bring immediate benefits by enhancing speed, safety, and flexibility across a wide range of maintenance and repair tasks. Designed for workshops with limited space, the ST4070 features a compact footprint and a low drive-on height of just 160mm. This allows vehicles to be positioned quickly and easily, even in tight workshop layouts, while short drive-on ramps help free up valuable floor space.
Each lift provides a powerful 7-tonne lifting capacity, supporting the full range of Tesco’s home delivery vehicles. The 630mm wide adjustable platforms add further versatility, making it easy to accommodate different chassis configurations across the fleet.
Technicians also benefit from a lifting height of over two metres, creating a comfortable and ergonomic working environment - especially important for tasks requiring extended access beneath the vehicle. An adjustable speed lowering valve enables controlled vehicle descent, enhancing safety when using axle stands or transmission jacks.speed-lowering
