Pointing to the standard’s annual milestone assessments, he explains that irtec could easily be tuned to fit at the end of year three, ahead of a formal end point assessment.
“There’s an opportunity for employers who want to assess their technician apprentices after three years, in terms of their knowledge, skills and behaviour,” he explains.
“irtec would form an ideal final gateway to ensure that they are ready for end point assessment.”
Mason concedes that irtec might need to be retuned for the task, but insists that the ethos is right.
