Scania rewards top technician apprentices

Apprenticeships
Jake Berry, an apprentice technician with Scania’s Maidstone dealership, has won the Scania GB apprentice of the year award for year three apprentices – the third time Berry has scooped top prize.

Scania’s annual awards are open to all apprentices across its UK dealer network, with a shortlist drawn from nominated individuals.

The other winners for 2019 are: Jack Roffe from Scania Boston (year one), and Alexander Myres, from Scania’s Lincoln site (year two), who also won the first year prize in 2018.

Four individuals from each year group undertook a six-hour assessment at Scania’s training centre, in Loughborough, where they completed practical tasks and a knowledge-based test.

The three winners receive a trophy and an all-expenses-paid trip to Scania’s HQ in Sweden.

Since the start of this year, Scania’s heavy vehicle technician apprenticeship has been delivered by Remit Group.
