ASH goes for Boweld and Hyva on DAF and Volvo tippers

Five top-of-the-range DAF CF and Volvo FMX 8x4 tippers, recently delivered to Alan Skip Hire (ASH), have all been specified with Hyva FC137 tipping cylinders and Boweld bodies.
Neil Hassall, managing director of the Flintshire-based company, says he selected the Hyva tipping cylinders not only for low weight (they weigh less than 490kg, complete with hydraulic oil) but also strength. And he adds that the heavy-duty, all-steel Boweld bodies are also part of the robustness agenda – as well as helping to maximise payload capacity. "Reduced weight is obviously beneficial but, for us, ruggedness and durability are worth even more," says Hassall. "Our tippers are employed on everything from repetitive, short-distance site clearance and muck shifting jobs, to longer range deliveries of topsoil and aggregates," he explains. "We can't have lightweight equipment that's not able to handle the rough stuff as well. For us, the versatility and availability of our trucks is everything."
