Lightweight Edbro CX14 tips it for Cemex, with 57-vehicle order

Building materials supplier Cemex has ordered 57 new tipper lorries, all of which are specified with Edbro hydraulic systems from Jost UK.

The vehicles are all 32-tonne, eight-wheeler rigids; delivery will be completed by the end of this month and the order to build them has been split between two different OEMs.

Jost UK is supplying the full hydraulic system, including pump, pipework and control valves, including the Edbro CX14 tipping cylinder.

The CX is said to be the lightest tipping cyclinder on the market – at 477kg, it is 258kg lighter than rival units, so allows more aggregate to be transported per trip.

The CX cylinder comes in a range of sizes and is a fully integrated ram and tank configuration. The CX14, specified for the Cemex tippers, is designed for 32-tonne trucks, has a lifting capacity of 25 tonnes and a stroke of over 5m.
