Axone Smart, from diagnostics firm Texa, is a new generation tool that replaces Axone 2000 for LCVs and cars, for hard wired connection.
Texa says the tool's case is hardwearing, as well as shock, water and dust resistant. It has a bright 5.7 TFT and 65.536 QVGA colour touch screen that can be viewed from any angle, and its lithium battery allows for 10 hours of continuous use.
Improvements you will notice include rapid connection with the ECU, simple, and automatic diagnostics in tune with modern vehicle technology, using Texa's IDC3 software.
The unit comes pre-loaded with IDC3 Pocket Light, with TGS2 Texa Global Scan, which provides ECU auto-diagnosis – covering from engine management to auxiliary control systems – and system availability and error status.
The next level up allows access to advanced functions, such as parameter reading and status, regulations and activations and electronic component settings, ECU and key coding.
Among the most common systems are the active and passive security devices, power steering, suspension, body computer, instrument panel, multifunctional display, steering electronics, entertainment system controls, keyless devices, automatic transmission, braking and traction systems, climate control and auxiliary heating.
