Supertrucks exports first Renault Master van conversion

Low loading glass carrier vehicles specialist Supertrucks says it has entered its 30th year with export success and a new Renault Master-based van.
Keller Glas, based in Winterthur, Switzerland, has received the first Renault low-loading glass carrier, which has a payload of 1,120kg, delivered by Supertrucks' German distributor Max Klemm. The 3.5 tonne gvw Renault version, which will run alongside Supertrucks' existing Citroën Relay vehicle, uses an alloy and steel composite drop-frame chassis conversion. Keller Glas also specified optional rear air suspension, which gives a rear loading height of 370mm for walk in accessibility. As for the superstructure, it's based on Supertrucks lightweight alloy sections, with GRP panels as exterior cladding and a one-piece translucent GRP roof. At the front end, the body then has an integrated, aerodynamic GRP Luton head, while rear access is via alloy roller shutter. The glass carrier itself then comprises a single external anodised alloy frame, with Supertrucks' System 2 poles and GlassStop arrester system. The vehicle is also equipped with twin internal racks with Supertrucks Turnlock pole system, which can each carry sheets of glass of up to 4,100mm long by 2,400mm high.
